I found a cute (if plain looking) kid-sized desk at a secondhand store and it was the perfect opportunity to turn it into something special.

A coat of bright blue spraypaint was the perfect base for a line of green grass at the bottom for a menagerie of fun summer flowers to bloom out of. Each of the flowers were ones we either had growing in our yard or had seen in the local parks so it was an opportunity for a bit of nature education as well. A good couple of coats of acrylic sealer and it was a sturdy scrubbable little desk that could handle whatever was thrown at it.

It was loved and enjoyed until my youngest daughter outgrew it and then went to a local resale shop for another family to love. What a wonderful cycle of improvement and sharing enjoyment!
