I volunteered to make trophies for a cardboard boat regatta – I had no idea at the time what I would do, but felt confident I could figure something out. I did some googling and found a couple of examples that sparked my creativity. With the help of my handy husband to cut plywood and dowel to serve as the internal structure, I made a “cardboard” trophy for each category. I topped each with a little cardboard boat appropriate to the category, sprayed all the cardboard with gold metallic paint, and used HTV to apply the text to the face panels. I’m really pleased with the result, and they were a hit with the event attendees and competitors.
