We have a tradition of adding a new ornament to our family Christmas tree each year. We either find or make something that represents something from that year as a memento and we usually label with the year in some way. Past years have been things like a small photo frame with a picture of our parakeet, Jewel for the year that she joined our family. Or a squirrel on a camping mug to represent the many woodland camping trips we took in that particular year.
When it came to the ornament for Christmas 2020, there was no question what best represented the year and would give a giggle at a time when for many, there wasn’t much to laugh about. I made a few as gifts, but I’m super happy with the way it came out and in this case, I think it requires no label to know which year it was for. I won’t be forgetting 2020 anytime soon.
