I worked with members of the Fish & Lake Committee to develop a logo and masthead for their proposed community newsletter. They liked the idea of something a bit punny, so we landed on the “Lake Life Ledger – Tackling reel issues frome weir to dam, shore to depths. The O-fish-ial Newsletter of the Cinnamon Lake Fish & Lake Committee” It reflects well the newsletter topics surrounding water quality, fishing and maintenance of their lake and in- and out-flows, while remaining neighborly and approachable.

The text content is provided by committee members and lightly edited by me. I have created many graphics/QR links over the Newsletter’s run to illustrate test results, maps to clarify local geography and terminology, edited/taken photos to clarify fish or plant species, and more. The newsletter is printed in black & white in-house by lake office staff and mailed via EDDM (Every Door Direct Mail), a budget-friendly solution to reach many community members at a minimum cost.

It has been well-received by community members who appreciate the clear and direct communication and the publication is considered a good investment by committee members.
